Methinks the family overestimates the piggies' upset at having them gone for three days and underestimates their ability to stomach vegetables which have sat around in a poop and pee-filled cage in the Delhi heat for that length of time.

(And I hate to break it to the family which got a chocolate Lab thinking that as a "rare breed" it is less likely to have genetic issues - it's not a separate breed from other Labs at all, and its parentage is MORE likely to be inbred when one is breeding for color.)

The kid studies with the guinea pigs on his desk? Brave soul. If I had done that I would have ended up with a desk full of droppings and chewed casebooks.

It is and I only read the part on guinea pigs. I just wanted slap the pig people upside the head and shout, "Of course your pigs miss you; you feed them. Duh. They would get excited about anyone who might give them fresh food after 3 days!"

Actually what got me was the bird atticle. I have kept and worked with birds for years and after reading it i had to stop.
