Forum Threads: FACEBOOK Fans: Threads to your WALL

You can now post GPC threads to your facebook WALL. It pulls the first 150 characters from the first post in the thread, along with a link to the thread, and an image if available (one of the first three images on the thread, usually the user avatars). You can add an optional comment.

You can select to post the thread to your wall, or send the link info to another facebook member.

Just keep in mind that if the avatar is a flashing gif, it will not display on facebook. So, you should probably select no photo in that case.

Below are a couple of examples that I put on my wall.

This is only relevant for the FIRST post in a thread. Also, I have not enabled this for ALL forums, just the main content forums where it makes sense. For example, it's not on the whiner forum, nor on any of the administration forums.

Already friends or just logged in? I thought you just had to be logged in to see that link.

To be able to see the link that you posted, which presumably leads to your facebook page, you need to be a friend, not just a member. Facebook is nicer than myspace in the fact that in order to see into someones profile, you have to be friends with them, or in some cases on the same network (so for you, Silicon Valley network). Otherwise, the profile is blocked out.

And that is why I love facebook and can't stand myspace. Though, I do believe myspace has gotten better with privacy settings. That and facebook has a single layout, so you aren't staring at crazy colors or listening to obnoxious music.
