You may not be able to do this but I think that you should create a chatroom for this site, anyone who agrees or disagrees with me please post what you think.

I think it sounds neat but would not be a good idea as it would need to have someone monitoring it and that is time intensive.

I will do it, but I have to do a major upgrade to the forum software first, and that is a big job. Once I get that done, there are a number of planned, very cool enhancements. But, we are talking a number of months out. I am working on some other rescue-related projects at the moment.

I would love a chatroom. I do see a drawback if we had one though. Everyone would end up discussing their problems in the chatroom and the threads would become obsolete. I think it would be hard to enforce the rule of keeping the posts where they belong and only using the chatroom for friendly banter. It would be natural for everyone to start asking cavy, cage, etc. questions in the chatroom. Might get too hectic. We could always start one and see how it goes.

Hi Teresa. Check your control panel (for the site itself) and see if you don't have a php based chat that can be installed at the click of a button. Most Cpanel installs have one you can use.

I want one that is integrated with vBulletin so that only registered and approved users can join. I'll be able to do it after the upgrade.

You could put the chat room in the general talk section. That way people could still post about cavy questions
