My friend can't become a member

I have a friend who I have reffered to the site. She called me saying that it keeps telling her that she answered the no spam question wrong. She said that the question is What is another name for guinea pigs? I told her it was cavy. She said that she had tried typing that four times now! Is there any trick to this? I have had 2 friends total say that they tried the no spam question several times and it still wouldn't work! I am just wondering if I am wrong or if there is something wrong in the forum or if it's just me...! Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place but help!!!!!!

They might be using a different browser.. Sometimes Netscape wont let me register place while Internet Explorer usually will. Ask them which they are using and maybe they can switch over and it will work.

I got at least 3 questions wrong before I got one right (I think the site took pity on me as it was "what color is the sky?"... I thought about it for a bit, as, you know, it changes colors... )

It sounds like your friends computers are having cookie issues. Tell them to go to the tools and delete personal information or cookies or whatever it is called (different browsers have different names for it).

PS- everyone should be using Firefox! Much better with killing spam and pop-ups and spyware and much cooler with all the settings. Like a spell-checker. And tabbed browsing. Mmmm, yes...

Tell her to type "cavys" instead of "cavy" I got stuck on the question but then I put in "cavys" and it worked.....................

I dont remember a spam question for this forum but I know guinealynx does. I tried registering there but as I only have "free" email addresses at the moment I couldnt register. There spam question to me was; Do guinea pigs have tails?

Now, somewhere I read that guinea pigs *do* have tails, they are a small flap (for lack of better word) of skin (covered in hair) located in the general rump area however you can not see the tail due to all the hair. So I chose Yes, I now dont think this is the right answer and perhaps may have something to do with me not being able to register (apart from my "free" email addy).

I got the tails one wrong, too! I looked it up in a rodent anatomy book and consulted with a few people if they thought that the tail-bones in the GP past the sacrum counted as a tail or not... they can have up to 4 I think, though they are usually fused...? I can't remember, trying to think back on it.
