The best part about this site

I'm not sure where this is supposed to go. Anyways, I would like to say that the best part about this site is looking at everyone’s cavy cages. I know that this site is called "cavy cages" for a reason but you would never expect to find the cages you do before coming in here.

I remember when I first found out about cavy cages. I heard about it on cavy madness, a different guinea pig site. It was after I got my first three guinea pigs. I saw a diy hedge hog cage on a different site and I wanted a creative way to make a larger than normal cage for my babies. They referred me to this site. I think that was about 4 or 5 years ago now. I spend a year doing research on guinea pig information before I got my first three guys but I didn't run into this site, for some odd reason. Maybe it wasn't as popular back than.

When I first came here I couldn't believe me eyes. The cages were so big and unique. There were all different from each other. They all were so creative. I immediately went out, purchased the materials, and made my own cage. It wasn't that big back than. Since I had only bought one box of cubes from target. (which I believe comes with 30 grids?). But now I have expended my cages several times and I have a HUGE cage. It isn't very pretty though, just functional. The pigs love to run from one side to the other and popcorn around. I know they are happy.

I feel good knowing that they have are not owned by a person who would keep them in a rabbit cage, a aquarium, or any of those tiny pet store cages. I feel like a better owner for it. At the same time I feel bad knowing that is what most people do this their small animals. I can't imagine living life in a small cage, alone, and depressed the way most small animals do.

I also feel a better owner, and I also didn't find this site until after 3 years of searching!

Re: The best part about this site

Well, I'm hoping to slowly change the exposure of this site over time. That's a big reason why I changed the name of the site. Calling it guineapigcages.com will ultimately get a lot a more search engine exposure for it.

I still have a lot more changes to make to help it along in that regard.

But, at the moment, I am working non-stop on a very large, new site that will tie in, but be different. I'm hoping to have phase one ready within the week.

Re: The best part about this site

I actually found this site right away. I probably clicked on a site or two first, but I found this site easiest to navagate. Sometimes there's just too much stuff on a homepage and it is overwhelming. I liked this site and have stuck around ever since. It's a good thing I found it too! I didn't know guinea pigs needed hay 24/7, couldn't have cedar bedding, and on and on. Cavy cages was a real lifesaver!

Some people would also say that you should read the rules of a forum before joining. That way you would know that you're not allowed to rejoin after being permanently banned and that all of your new names will be banned again, Louis.
