I have been on here since January and one thing that I got from this forum is that if your going to be on you have to be willing to take some grief. Alot of the people on here treat there pigs like children and if your not treating your pig right then there going to say something. I love it I think that this forum is awesome. As a newbie, I have a question about the anti-breeding part just for my own curiousity. Is the anti-breeding part considered a bad thing among the forum? I am only curious as to why this is? I assume it's because there may be an over population of GP's? Again, I'm here to learn more than anything. Thanks!

The site is owned by Teresa who owns CavySpirit (www.cavyspirit.com), a large GP rescue in California. With the assistance of several people, she picks up the pieces from abuse, overpopulation and neglect all over her area.

There is a huge overpopulation problem not only with guinea pigs, but most animals that people keep as pets, breed irresponsibly, and then abandon at the nearest pet store or shelter, and sometimes along the side of the road. For this reason as well as many others, we advocate adopting from a shelter or rescue or rehoming rather than buying your animals from a petstore.
