    Question Any suggestions? Ideas? Tips?

Hi all, I am using fleece with coroplast hay wracks and the hay along with hair is impossible to get off between washes! Apart from washing everything everyday does anyone have any suggestions or tips? I have tried brushing it daily, vacuuming it, I've even tried the sticker role brushes for pet hair and it just won't do it!

The best thing would be to work out how to contain the hay to be area but they drag it around when they are popcorning and sprinting crazily!

    Anyways any tips much appreciated!

to be honest, i think with pigs you just have to learn to live with a certain amount of "mess". for people who like things tidy, pigs can be a real challenge - you can drive yourself crazy picking up every piece of hay or every loose poop. i've found that certain fleece seems to cling to the hay more than others (don't ask me why or which - i haven't the foggiest). my pigs LOVE to sit and snuggle and play in their hay, so i live with a little more mess because it makes them happy. recently, i bought small litter boxes, made some fleece and uhaul pad liners, and put the hay in there. they can go sit in it, eat it, whatever, but it stays a little more contained in the litter box. try not to let it get to you too much - just enjoy their popcorning and frolicking!

Try a seperate kitchen area. It makes a world of difference.

I used to have the same exact problem. I tried the sticky hair removal rolls too but I would practically have to use a whole roll. So I picked up a rubber pet hair remover brush from Jewel Osco and it works great for hay & hair messes on fleece.

Thanks for all your replies, yes they just love being messy which is fine I'm not so much of a clean freak, the problem is more that I made the mistake of pure black fleece in one of my cages and that's the one causes the most annoyance because my Ruby in particular is a Swiss teddy and his hair is very very obvious. Will try the rubber mit to see how I do with that, in Ruby and Sunny's cage they have a first floor kitchen, it does contain 80% of the hay I have to say. The litter box... I have one of these in Chilly's cage, problem is I made the mistake of worrying she might not be able to get over the side into it and cut down 2 sides, I then realised she is a more of a climber tha I thought! Will get a new one and try that out properly. As long as they are happy I'm happy, I think it's that the black fleece looks a bit more messy so will start to look for another color I think...Thanks all...

    Re: Any suggestions? Ideas? Tips?

I purchased a Fur B Gone brush from Amazon and it was the best investment I ever made. When I'm changing out the fleece, I take the fleece outside, put it on the ground and brush it off as best I can with the brush. If you do little strokes all the way through the fleece, it takes a large bulk of it off. Then I shake them out a little bit, and take them inside to wash. I also use the brush to spot clean the cage during the week as well.

The brush is very similar to the mitt that is talked about above, but I tried a mitt and didn't like it. I liked the brush better. Just my opinion I guess!

A link for the brush can be found here:

Amazon.com: Pet Buddies PB5577 FurBeGone Dog Grooming Brush-TPR, Blue: Pet Supplies

    Hope that helps some!
