| Re: Etticate inforcment. *sigh* I really do use a lot of "Americanisms", don't I? "Call on the carpet" means to chastise someone for doing something wrong OR to challenge somone to back up their claims. The way I used it referred to chastising people for their lack of manners. Sorry about the colloquialisms. I tend to speak (and write) using regional slang. |
