This might be a silly question, but why do some threads have the "thanks" and "no thanks" buttons, and others just have the "thanks"? |

The only forum I am aware of that has the "No Thanks" feature is the Kitchen. I don't remember why it is only in the Kitchen. |

I think the kitchen is more to debate so 'no thanks' is only there. If you don't agree with a comment in the others, you can vote it down. |

The kitchen and it's subforum are the only forums with both the thanks and no thanks feature. This is because of the often heated discussions that occur in the kitchen. If you don't agree with someone's views, you can choose to give no thanks. If you also notice in the kitchen there is no feature for voting threads up or down. |
