When I try to post a photo, all it comes up with is a red x in the post. I've read the tutorial threads on posting pictures into threads, but I've tried many different ways and none seem to work? Thanks.

Where are the photos located when you are trying to add them to posts? Are they on a photo hosting service such as photobucket or flickr? Or are they on your hard drive?

They're on photobucket.

There is a link address you can copy and paste. They don't necessarily have to show up as image files in a thread. A link to the photo will work just as well. If you do put them in as images, then there is a little button at the top of this reply box that looks kinds like a picture of a mountain with a sun, that is to add img tags. Or you can just type [img]post link in center[/img] and they should show up as images. If they are showing up for the rest of us and not for you, then you have images blocked. Try doing one in this thread to test it out. Just make sure to resize your photos in photobucket so they don't appear too large in the thread. 640x480 or smaller is the ideal size for threads.

When I post the links, do I use the url in the address bar, or the code on the right hand side of my image which says for forums and bulletin boards? Thanks so much for your help.

Try the code first and if that doesn't work then try the address in the bar.

Edit- So, I tried a few times. First time was just a link to the forum, using the picture with the mountain on it. A link to my photobucket account appeared next. Then when trying to use the attachment symbol, it claims to be an invalid file. I should be able to get a working link, however any ideas on why it's not showing in the post? Many thanks.

Don't use the attachment feature. Just copy the link and paste it in the reply box. If it's an image and you want to make it show up as an image, after you've copied/pasted the link, then just type the [img][/img] tags on both sides of the link with no spaces in between the link and tags on the inside.

Example: [img]your link here[/img]
