You can only edit (and delete the content of your post) for the first 10 minutes after posting. After that, a mod would have to do it for you. It's to prevent people from changing their tune in a conversation. It's always been that way--forever and ever--amen. |

Yeah, that's how it has been up until recently. Now, when I post something, I can't even delete it in the first 10 minutes - not even in the first 30 seconds. And just so you know, there was an instance or two when I used a trick to delete a post after 10 minutes had expired, but that won't work anymore either, because I can't delete posts, period. |

I'll check into it tomorrow to see if I can replicate it. Maybe I accidentally changed a setting, who knows. |

Realizing that I couldn't delete helped me to think twice before posting mean replies. |

Well, it's acting the way it's supposed to act. Members are not allowed to delete their own posts. You can edit your post for up to 10 minutes and in doing so can delete the content of your post. The actual 'delete' doesn't work, you have to remove the content from your post and you have to leave at least 10 characters I believe. CF, maybe you are confusing this forum with another. |

Well it's working again... I don't know what you did, but I did not get confused. I just deleted one... go look for it! |

It's right above the one you just posted CF. The mods can see deleted posts. Members can "soft" delete posts but I believe only mods can both soft and physically delete them. |

Ok yeah now the "soft" delete doesn't work anymore. That was the whole reason I started this thread. I knew all along that the "deleted" posts weren't really deleted. |
