Careless Problems with iGive.....

I downloaded the iGive shopping window and became a member through the link on the forums. But my computer recognized it as spyware, and whenever I opened a website for one of the compatible stores, my tabs would become messed up- if I opened more than one page they wouldn't function correctly. This could only be fixed if I restarted my internet or my computer. I don't know if this is just my computer, my internet, or even if I just didn't download it completely correctly??

Anyway, I was only to able to fix the problem after I deleted the iGive download and any of the related files and restarted my computer.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I would definitely be careful before downloading the shopping window. It may not be spyware/adware safe.

Re: Problems with iGive.....

It's definitely safe from a spyware/adware perspective. It has to check the urls of the websites you are visiting before you visit them, so it may seem like spyware to your security program, but it definitely isn't. What operating system and what security software are you using? I've been using it for a long time with no performance problem or other issues.

Re: Problems with iGive.....

Also, you need to add iGive to the list of allowed programs in your security software program.

Re: Problems with iGive.....

I figured it out.... With our security system, you have to manually add each thing you download to the list of allowed programs, which is why it was recognizing it as spyware.

Our security system is called Spyware Terminator. It wasn't our internet because we have Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 2.

Thanks.

Ugh. Sometimes I just really hate technology....
