Re: meaning of 'Multi-quote this message'

The Quote button allows you to quote just one post. If there are several posts you wish to respond to in the thread then use the Multi Quote button.

Click the multi quote in each post you want to quote/reply to when you get to the last post you want to quote hit the regular quote button. A new reply box will appear with all of the quotes from all of the posts you chose.

Then, pare down the quotes so you just have the pertinent information needed and type you replies

Re: meaning of 'Multi-quote this message'

Is there a way to easily quote just a sentence or two of a post? I always quote the whole thing then manually go in and delete what I don't want. Surely there is a more time efficient method??

Re: meaning of 'Multi-quote this message'

There is no way to automatically quote just a sentence. You either have the push the quote button and quote the whole thing and pare it down or copy and paste the one sentence.

Re: meaning of 'Multi-quote this message'

What about inserting your own text in between lines/paragraphs of someone elses post in a quote? (ie. when several points are answered with the answer beneath each point in the quote.)

Re: meaning of 'Multi-quote this message'

The way I do that is I quote the post. Then I copy/paste the the beginning and ending quote tags --[ quote=VoodooJoint;299362] and [ /quote]-- (without the spaces so it will work of course) and paste it before and after after the single sentence or statement I want to quote. Then I write what I have to say.

The tag line will look like this
[ quote=VoodooJoint;299362]There is no way to automatically quote just a sentence.[ /quote]

Then I write my response.

I do the same for each sentence I want to quote.

In the end it looks like this

That's a bit more work but it does make the quotes easier to follow and do a click back on.

Just practising so I don't stuff it up in a normal thread. Cool!
Good feature, all forums should have it.
