You can post any picture in a thread. There are two ways you can do it.
Directly into a thread: - You will need to host your photos in some other location on the internet. Upload it to a site that allows remote display of a picture using [img] tags. This might be personal webspace your internet provider has given you, space on your own website, or a picture hosting site that allows remote display, such a www.putfile.com, www.xs.to or www.photobucket.com. You may need to first crop and resize your photos to a workable size.
- After you've uploaded your photo to an internet site, copy the link they give you.
- Start a post go to the 'advanced mode' (click on the "Go Advanced" button under the text entry area).
- Write the text for your post. Have your cursor where you want the photo inserted. Either, go to the tool bar right above the text entry window and click on the 'insert image' icon (mountain with sun). Paste in the url that you copied of your photo. Click okay. OR paste in the url in your text and surround it with image tags. [img]url[/img]
Note: Some sites, like
www.geocities.com[font=Arial][font=Verdana], will not allow remote display of a picture. In this case, you can instead post a link to a page you have created using their software that includes the picture.[/font] [/font]
As a thumbnail pointing to an attachment to open:
You do not need to host it on the web for this method but you will have to size your picture down to 2.00 MB or less to upload them. Save your resized picture onto your hard drive.
Start a post and go to the 'advanced mode' (click on the "
Go Advanced" button under the text entry area).
Scroll down. Do you see the "Manage Attachments" button? Click it. A window will open to add attachments. Browse to the location of your photo on your hard drive and select it. Then click upload. The window will tell you if your picture was accepted or not. If it wasn't you have to reduce the picture more. If it was then you are all set. Once you are done with your message hit Submit Reply and it will appear as a thumbnail at the bottom of your message.
