My pigs enjoy cherry tomatoes. They are not very high in sugar and the Calcium:Phosphorus ratio is good. They don't have any Oxalic acid to speak of and have a decent amount of Vitamins C and A. I usually give 2 per pig every couple of days, sliced up. I think cherry and grape tomatoes are the same thing. I get a little box of them at the grocery store and it'll last a week or two without them showing any signs of going bad. It makes for a nice addition to the red/green leaf lettuce and the bell peppers I give them.

It's mostly water and has no nutritional value. It can also cause severe diarrhea in pigs.

There are other varieties they can eat, but they tend to be more expensive at the grocery store, so most people stick with those three.
Would it be good to give GPs iceberg lettuce on a road trip in addition to red or green leaf lettuce to be sure they're getting enough water (my piggies aren't that fond of cucumber). Just curious...

No, I wouldn't give them iceberg. When I travel with mine, I take lettuce in a plastic bag that has extra water in it, and I also stop and offer them water bottles every couple of hours.

Ok, that's what I was planning to do anyway, I was just thinking iceberg might be a safe addition. Good to know it's not - I will skip that idea. Thanks for the info!! I really appreciate it!
