Question Ordering hay online which is best?

Hi all! I am planning on making an online hay order at the end of the month and I want some suggestions. I am allergic to timothy hay (at least the store bought stuff!) and have had good experiences with Oxbow Orchard Grass hay. The problem is, the pet supply store only carries 10oz bags for $6 and a bag lasts about 3 days with by three boars.

Does anyone know of a good place to get orchard grass online? And if not, have you found that the KMS hay is less dusty (and therefore less allergenic) than the oxbow or other brands available at the store?

Oh, and I've already tried to find a local source of hay... all that is available is Alfalfa

    Thanks in advance!

I order Oxbow Orchard Grass in 50 lb boxes at my local Pet Supplies Plus pet supply store. It costs me $60 and I pick it up at the store. It's always fresh and green; much nicer than bagged Oxbow hay. I'd say it's as nice as KM hay. It's a little cheaper for me than KM hay so I buy it because it's less expensive for me.

Would you mind telling me how big a 50 lb box is? That would last my pigs months, but I worry about storage.

KMS is less dusty than bagged hay, from what I've experienced. However, when you starting getting to the bottom of the box, there is usually some dusty scrap pieces.A nice thick layer of it. I fluff my hay outside and discard the dusty scraps, distributing into 3 big boxes with holes stabbed into them.

I've also heard people getting better quality Oxbow by ordering online in bulk boxes. I've only seen a few pictures, but I couldn't even believe it was the same brand. The difference was extreme.

Sometimes I wish I lived in the UK, as they have dust extracted hays. We need some of that here!

The 2nd cut timothy hay i got from kms is REALLY dusty. It's great hay, and the piggies love it, just really really dusty

Also when KMS has it they Bluegrass hay is actually Orchard hay and is supposed to be lovely. Look for it around August, they are out atm. http://www.kmshayloft.com/hay/

@piggypuppylove - my fiance is also very allergic to Timothy hay. We order KMS Bluegrass and LOVE IT! Unfortunately, I think they are out for the year due to crop damage. If they don't get some in soon, I will be forced to buy a bale of Orchard from a feed store nearby ($28 for the entire bale!).

Kleenmama 3rd cut timothy hay is AMAZING!!! I have used both 2nd cut and 3rd both are great, I did not find either dusty at all. I bought the 45 pounds of hay. It got here sooo fast and it smells amazing and you will your pigs go bonkers over it, they LOVE it!!
