What Has Happened to KMS Bluegrass Hay?
I just went to KMS Hayloft to order bluegrass hay and pellets and note that NO bluegrass hay is listed for sale. When I entered "bluegrass" into the search engine on the site, it returned no results.
Do any of you have any information? I emailed them today to inquire. The bluegrass hay is thusfar the only hay that my husband isn't allergic to.....he's highly allergic to any timothy hay that we've tried. If bluegrass isn't available, what is a good alternative? Orchard grass?

I know, I was super disappointed too that her bluegrass is out of stock probably until late August. They say that the early bird gets the worm, and I guess this just shows how popular her bluegrass is! And yes, I have heard the orchard grass is a good alternative to people with allergies as well. One place you can order it from is Sweet Meadow Farm, but it is like $2.79 for 20 oz, which is much more expensive than from KMS.

Ah, Wildcavy......I missed that! Thanks ech90! Below is the response I received from KMS:
<<I'm sorry!! We ran out of bluegrass earlier this month as we expected we would =( The last cutting of blue last year got rained on and completely ruined. I sympathize with you as bluegrass is also the only hay I'm not allergic to....(ironic, I know)
I would try 3rd timothy. Definitely do not try 2nd. 2nd has seed heads and more pollens attached because of that.
We expect to have more bluegrass in stock by August. Hopefully 3rd will work for you!>>

Ahh I can't believe I didn't think of that! Everyone just talks about bluegrass and orchard grass being better for allergies, but it makes total sense that 3rd cut timothy would also be better for the reasons listed above. In fact, my boyfriend - who I live with and who is allergic to all kinds of hay (in fact, his allergy testing papers show that he got a 2.03 specifically for timothy) - is completely fine despite the fact that there is a huge box of KMS's 3rd cut hay sitting under my desk and scattered about everywhere (our room is tiny so even though I am constantly sweeping it up, it gets places!). So yes, I don't know if it will be the same you but I have first hand experience with 3rd cut timothy being better for allergies. I can't believe I didn't even think about that!
