    Fleabane?

Is fleabane OK for guinea pigs to eat? I haven't found any info here or on Guinealynx. This question came up when I forwarded the photo below, and someone recognized the plant and raised the question. After doing a little searching, I haven't been able to come up with a verdict one way or the other.

Fleabane is in the in the daisy/aster family. I wouldn't think that a guinea pig would want to eat it, I know horses won't. I doubt it's good for guinea pigs.

I don't know the answer ( I am pretty sure Ly would know though) but LOVE your photo, it is really adorable !! What a great shot ! This photo is certainly worthy of some kind of reward or medal it's so well taken.

    Re: Fleabane?

kathlaaron, I wish it were mine, I just found it on the internet. When I reposted it because of how awesome it was, I got a comment about it then. To me, he looks like as he's getting ready to bite the thing, he really hopes it won't bite back. Typical guinea pig.

Hmm. Ok, so it's probably a bad thing. Maybe Ly can give a definitive answer, but for now I'll keep the guinea pigs away from the fleabane.

It's not on the poisonous plants lists but I don't know the safety of it either so I wouldn't let the pigs eat it.
