Thank you all for the info!
As far as getting a buddy, unfortunately, I have had one too many run-ins with bad breeders posing as someone who can no longer care for their pet on Craig's List. I don't want to post a "want" ad because I'm sure that plenty of people will claim their pig is a year old when it is not. I want Kona's companion to be close to her in age so I don't run into a cycle where one dies when the other still has plenty of life to live. I've had bad experience with that, so I am really determined to find an animal that is close to her in age. My local rescue will not email me back, answer the phone, and is not flexible in the least when it comes to visiting the pigs. I continue to search petfinder and animal shelters in my area.
I'm glad for the info about the fruit; I'll definitely check out your post again, Ly. I went out and bought green pepper and cilantro for her today. Hopefully, she will enjoy it. She is still a bit indignant when she runs out of carrot shreds.![]()
