The cheapest I've found for Oxbow Cavy Cuising around here is $14 for 5lbs at PetSmart. My vet charges $20 for 5lbs. The hay is much cheaper at PetSmart at $4 for 24oz, versus $10 for 24oz at my vet. Is this average for Oxbow in physical stores? It would be expensive to ship across the country to Atlanta if I ordered it online. I'm trying to find a feed store that's not too far out into the suburbs at the moment, hoping it will be cheaper and I won't have to give money to PetSmart. |

Actually, I live in Ohio and have found that it is cheaper (with shipping) to order pellets and hay online (from Kleenmama's). I get 45 lbs of bluegrass for a little over $60, which is about $1.33 per pound; as opposed to oxbow which is about $10 (without tax) for 40 oz (2.5 lbs), which is about $4 per pound. I also just got (at the end of sept) 50 lbs of pellets for about $65 (with shipping) from KM, which is about $1.30 per pound; Oxbow's cavy cuisine is about $18 (again, without tax) for 10 lbs, and that's $1.80 per pound. Overall, even with the expensive shipping costs, buying online is cheaper...at least for me. |

Try Pet Supplies | Dog & Cat Supplies, Pet Meds | DrsFosterSmith.com Pet Products and petfooddirect.com. Their pellets and hay are cheaper and if you can order enough stuff (Carefresh or whatever else) it ends up being quite a bit less, even with shipping. Also you can find online coupons for both sites. I get my food and pellets in bulk from Kleenmama's and even though it's a large expense up front, it's cheaper per pound. I ordered 25lbs of pellets (that I divided into 5lb bags and froze) + 9lbs of hay for $61.75 w/ shipping (I live in the most expensive zone). But if I bought five 5lb bags of Oxbow at Petsmart for $12.99 each it would cost me a little more and I essentially got 9lbs of hay for free. Then I ordered 35lbs of 3rd cut timothy for $49.61 shipped. That comes to $1.42 per pound and the 3rd cut is amazing hay. |

I order online. All together its $30 for 10 lbs of pellets. And that's including shipping costs. I dont really look at the price of hay. I just buy a couple bags and thats that. Iv never compared prices on hay. |

I got 35 lbs. of Kleenmama blue grass and 10 lbs. of Kleenmama timothy pellets plus shipping for $54. If I were to order pellets alone, the pellets plus shipping would be around $22. When I ran out of KM pellets, I went out and bought Oxbow Cavy Cuisine from a local pet supply store. The 10 lbs. bag I got was only $13.89+tax. My pigs like KM a lot more though. Once I'm done with this bag, I'll switch back to KM. KM also smells much better for me. I've never tasted it though. I've also tried to buy hay from a local farm. I got orchard grass hay for $16 for 110 lbs bale. I didn't like it as much as KM blue grass. When the blue grass came out again this season, I ended up donating all my orchard grass to a shelter. |

Yes it's very expensive. The importing to europe from the u.s makes it so expensive. My girls eat 1 bag every 8-10 days. |

I spent a total of $45.11 (shipping $17.15, food cost $27.96) for 14lbs of timothy hay ($12.99), 10lbs of pellets ($8.99), and 2 20oz. bags of orchard grass at $2.99 each and I got it from Sweet Meadow. I believe they're located in Massachusetts...I ordered on Oct 12th and got it on the 15th. The pigs LOVE the hay...it seems so fresh and smells wonderful. At first they didn't think anything of it, but now they go crazy over it. |

Hay - I usually pay $10-12 for a 60lb bale of western timothy or orchardgrass hay. If for some reason I can't find someone selling it within ~2 hour drive of me (when I'm close to running out), there is a feed store about 1/2 hour away that sells western timothy for $43 for a 120lb bale. A 60lb bale usually lasts me 4-5 weeks. Pellets - It's around $13 for a bag of Oxbow pellets (5lb) at my vet. |

I'm in Canada and my Oxbow pellets are $20 for 10 pounds and my hay is 20 pounds for $30 or 40 pounds for $50. I get it from a small animal hay supplier. |

Hopefully I can switch to KM's pellets and hay soon, otherwise, I get my Oxbow pellets and hay at our local Humane Society. 10 lbs of pellets is $14 and 48oz of hay is $8. That's the cheapest I can get it. |
