Re: What brand of pellets should I get?

KM Hay is absolutely amazing. I bought a bale of orchard and timothy mix locally, once this is done I'm going to start ordering her hay again. My pigs don't let a piece of bluegrass go to waste.

Actually Ly, she stopped the half and half boxes.
She also added new weight categories like 15 lbs.

That's new. I guess I will just have to order smaller boxes of each then when I want to get my girls both bluegrass and timothy.

Aw man, which one do you recommend then? The bluegrass or timothy?

Re: What brand of pellets should I get?

I have Oxbow timothy hay and Oxbow Cavy Cuisine Timothy Hay Pellets for my guinea pigs. I was just wondering is this alright? I see that some people recommend other kinds of pellets which I'm not sure I can get in Australia. I am just wondering is just feeding these things (along with their fresh veges of course) sufficient for their diet?

how long do you think a 10lb. of KM's pellets would last for two boars
10 lbs of Oxbow pellets lasted my two girls just less than 3 months.

Totally alright, that's what I feed my piggers. Kleenmama's( www.kmshayloft.com ) is supposedly the BEST brand you can get, but Oxbow is great stuff, too.

Re: What brand of pellets should I get?

Now I am completely confused.
I was told that the pellets I use (Charnwoods High C) have oats in them so are too fattening.
In KM pellets, oats are listed as the second most plentiful ingredient. In their Timothy pellets there are oats and also barley. Barley is used to fatten up horses so isn't this unsuitable?

For Australia, you have the best with Oxbow.

You would have to write KM to find out why she put the ingedients in her pellets.

It could be that the Charnwoods have other bad ingredients in them too. I don't believe I have the list for this one. Would you care to provide an ingredients list?
