Oxbow -vs- Sweet Meadow

I currently feed my two girls Oxbow Cavy Cuisine and Oxbow Western Timothy hay, but I am looking into Sweet Meadow.

So, here's my question...What's better: Oxbow pellets or Sweet Meadow pellets? Oxbow hay or Sweet Meadow hay?

One more question, I get 40 oz of Oxbow hay for $8.00, is Sweet Meadow hay any cheaper (I can't quite calculate it...= D)?

What's the best kind of Sweet Meadow hay, if I were to get it?

Thanks for your opinions!

Re: Oxbow -vs- Sweet Meadow

I really like Sweet Meadow hay. It's super fresh and pretty cheap. I got 36 pounds in around July for $34 bucks including shipping. I have two guinea pigs and a rabbit and there is still more than half of the box of hay left.

Re: Oxbow -vs- Sweet Meadow

I love Sweet Meadow, and for me, it's local, so it's nice. I feed the pigs 3rd cut timothy, but I give them sweet meadow grass, alfalfa, (as a treat) and they love burrowing in the 1st cut timothy.

I just love Sweet Meadows, and it's cheap!

Re: Oxbow -vs- Sweet Meadow

Thanks, everyone! Now, what about the pellets? Are they any good?

PS: 1frankie7, I get my Oxbow hay (and pellets) from our Humane Society - that's probably why costs less than the pet store.

Re: Oxbow -vs- Sweet Meadow

Oxbow Cavy Cuisine and Sweet Meadow Timothy pellets have minor variations in terms of ingredients. They are comparable to one another. Both are suitable to feed.

Re: Oxbow -vs- Sweet Meadow

My pigs liked their meadow hay. It's more of a thin grass texture than a thicker grass like timothy or even orchard grass. I've never tried their timothy hay
