Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
I noticed my girls starting nibbling a bit on cilantro once they tasted it by accident. I am trying hard to get them to eat green pepper (these are the "junk food" piggies, having been raised on carrots and apples). So I minced a bit of green pepper and apple together (they've not had apple in a few days). While eating the apple, they ate some of the green pepper, too. I hope this is the start of them eating and liking it. Does anyone have any other hints on how to get them to eat the green pepper? Do you cut it large, small, etc. I am really determined to get them on the right track with their diets. |

If you offer it at a time when they have other foods they like they'll probably eat around it. Maybe try putting a couple chunks in their cage at a time when they have no other foods? I give my boys good sized chunks of peppers (and everything really) cause it gives them more to gnaw on and they seem to like that they also like things they can grab and drag off to various hiding spots to eat there. It also makes it easier for me to keep track of who's eatting how much and of what. |

My boys were picky eaters when I got them too, and I just kept on giving it to them. One would start eating it, and before I knew it they all loved it, green/red/yellow and orange peppers, when I first got them, none of them would touch it. I also tried just giving it to them alone, like as a treat kinda thing, and then started putting it with all their veggies, and they eat almost anything I give them now. |
