Question about baby pigs!

Like I said in a previous post I adopted a young male about 1 month old, I got him yesterday and he is adorable! I know that I need to feed him alfalfa and cavy performance to supplement his calcium. Here is my question. Right now I have timothy hay and alfalfa in his cage, should I give him just alfalfa and no timothy hay? Also should I mix the cavy cousine and cavy performance together, or should I just give him cavy performance for the next 5 months? What do you think is the best combo of hay and pellets for this young guy? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Re: Question about baby pigs!

You actually need to feed him alfalfa OR cavy preformance. And he needs unlimited Timothy hay no matter what, if you opt to give him alfalfa hay you can mix it in together. If you opt to give him cavy preformance you can just give him just that as his pellet.

Re: Question about baby pigs!

Just like JD said, he needs a grass hay. You can give him alfalfa pellets or some alfalfa hay, but if you don't have any of those because you have older pigs you can always just feed an extra veggies high in calicium.
