Lettuce question

Are Lola Rosa and oak leaf (someone said it was fine) OK to feed? There is a baby lettuce mix in the store that includes these. In general, are all types of lettuce, except for iceberg, OK?

Re: Lettuce question

I believe those all should be fine, but Ly&Pigs has a chart posted on here somewhere, I think in the Nutrition Section. It's definitely worth checking out.

Re: Lettuce question

I did check out the chart (maybe I am not seeing it), but I couldn't find those two...

Re: Lettuce question

I looked at the chart again, and by God, you're right... Don't know what to tell you then. I'll attack google right quick and see if I find anything.

Re: Lettuce question

Red Oak
A beautiful specialty lettuce, known for its brilliant color resembling oak leaf foliage. It’s crisp, but tender, and is excellent in salad bowls.

Green Oak
Delicate and defined oak leaf lettuce is crisp, tender, and attractive in any salad combination.

Lola Rosa
Green in the interior with an intense flair of red ruffled leaves, Lola Rosa provides a pleasant, mild flavor to your salad greens.

...judging by these descriptions, I'd imagine that they'd all fall into the Red/Green leaf lettuce categories? Red and Green leaf are both listed as okay for daily consumption.

Re: Lettuce question

They are specific types of lettuces and they don't fall into either the red or green leaf lettuce category.

All lettuces with the exception of iceberg are fine to feed.

My charts don't list lettuces that are included in spring mixes.
