My piggie likes many fruits and vegetables. One thing I try to sneak in is green, red, or yellow peppers. He wont touch them. Is there a trick to getting him to eat them? |

It took a while for my pigs to eat peppers or cilantro. I want to say it was a good month. Same with cilantro. Now they love them! Just keep trying and eventually they'll eat it. I'm having the same issue with my new pig. He ate it the first day and now ignores it or takes a nibble or two. All of my pigs prefer green to the other colors. |

Don't laugh, but try cutting it differently. Like if you do strips cut it in chunks or whatever. If I notice our piggies leaving something in the bowl, I'll change how I cut it and that seems to help. Like with baby carrots, sometimes I do circles, sticks or whole. |

My boys would not touch peppers for about 3-4 weeks. I just kept trying, now they LOVE them. They grab the peppers and run before they even eat their romaine now. I finally got them to take a bite one day while I held the peppers. Both of them took a taste but didn't eat the peppers that day but started the next night eating them right up! |

Another thing that my pigs like with their veggies in general is different ways of presenting them. If they seem like they're getting bored with the same old veggies (even though we mix them up, there are the same staples daily or several times a week), I will start to leave the plastic bowl in the cage with them. Usually I just dump them into the middle of the cage so they can forage, but sometimes they like to play with the bowl. I don't know if that will get them to try something new, but you never know! |

My girls like green the best too. I would stick with just green for a while until they eat them, and then try yellow or red. Good luck. |

My piggy loves green peppers. Are the only safe ones to feed them the green, yellow and red ones? I've seen orange bell peppers at the store every now and then, are those okay? |

Our pigs don't like red or yellow peppers. It took Ruby 1 1/2 years before she would eat green pepper! But I kept offering it everyday until she finally started eating it all the time. Now she eats it before anything else. Patience and persistance is the key. |

Yes, any color is fine, even purple. |

We just kept offering, but also what we've found to help is we always give them their bell pepper first, before we give them any of the rest of their salad. That way they get it when they are hungriest and don't fill up on other veggies first. We actually drop the bell pepper into their cage while we are still fixing the rest of their salad. |

Definitely persist with presenting your piggies with peppers, I was convinced my girls would never eat them but a month after their first introduction peppers are now a firm favourite. My girls came from a home where they only ever had kale and guinea pig mix (it makes me shudder to think about how boring and bad for their health this was) but now they are fruit and vegetable experts! |

Finally Gus~Gus will eat peppers! Red green or yellow! It took him a while but I have to feed those first before anything else! |

Gizzy won't eat any peppers and she will not eat anything it touched in her plate. Going to try cutting them differently and put them in for her every day for a month and see what happens. |
