Can guinea pigs have it and is it high/low in calcium? I have a pig that is prone to cystitis so he is on a low calcium diet. |

From what I've read on here yes they can, but you have to becareful as with any fuirt you should give in only once in a while because it has a lot of water, I'm saing that cause the white part that most people cute off does have water in it. |

Watermelon itself has 7 mg of calcium per 100 grams, with a Ca:P ratio of 0.6:1. A small piece every once in a while should be fine as far as his calcium restrictions. |

My pigs love watermelon. I save abit of the fruit on the rind and give cut up in inch size pieces. I give each pig 2 pieces and have not had any problems. My rabbits pieces are about 2 inch sizes. As with the pigs I have had no problems. They also love cantelope, grapes, strawberries, apples and most fruit. I give them fruit once to twice a week. |
