For my pair, I give the entire husk off of a cob. So maybe half the leaves and silk? |

Yes, rinse well. I am not sure on how often, as what I do is rotate a lot around many different veggies, so they never really get repeats more than 3 days at a time. HOpefully others who are more nutrient savvy will report soon. |

Yes, you should rinse well and corn husks can be fed daily. |

Sometimes a forum search can answer your questions. Someone asked a question on corn husks the other day and that thread is currently right below this one. Searching is so much easier these days with thread prefixes too. |

The other day, at my local market, they were selling corn. Everyone was shucking and putting the husks in a big barrell. The store let me take all the husks I wanted for free. My piggies ate big time for that. My piggies love corn husks. Last edited by suzilovespiggie; 05-24-09 at 04:49 pm. |

I tried this on my piggies today. I wasn't surprised that Diamond ate it right away, he eats everything. I was surprised that Doodles had taken a liking to it as well...he's usually picky. I'm looking forward to doing this almost daily this summer |

Corn is the perfect veggie. The husks and silks for the piggies and the corn for the humans. If you can get bags husks from your grocery store, you can dry the husks so you can offer them during the winter. I always remove the outer leaves of the husks and throw them away before washing the rest. I worry that if the corn is treated, my piggies could get sick from the chemicals, even with washing. So, the outside husks get tossed. |
