Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
Max is now 7 months. I was giving him oxbow pellets, 1/4c and read i should give him 1/8c. I was giving him 1c veggies twice a day. 1 carrot during the day. 1 Fruit twice a week during the day. I try to spread the food out thru the day. I read i should give him 1c veggies a day. He's always hungry seems like. Question is do i have to give only 1c veggies or can he have more. Would'nt touch the veggies at first now he's a little pig. Also should he have food in his cage during the night. Its usually all gone. Has all the hay he can chew in his cage as well. Thanks |

He can have more as long as you feed according to the charts. One cup is the minimum. If he has unlimited hay during the night (and water), that is sufficient. |

What a lot of people do is 1 cup of leafy greens (lettuce, parsley, cilantro, kale etc. based on the charts) then a second cup or so of other veggies. |

I'm sure that my three little pigs have at least 2 cups of veggies each per day. I have a bowl that I fill up with their salad and dump it in their cage twice a day. It looks like at least 3 cups when I dump it in the cage. I have a 2/3 cup scoop (which is more than 1/8 cup per pig, but less than 1/4 cup) that I use, but they don't usually eat it all in one day. Ly's recommendation is 1/8 - 1/4 cup of pellets per day. |

You can feed up to 1/4 cup of pellets like KM's or Oxbow per pig. I believe 2/3 is more than 1/4. You can feed more veggies, the minimum if 1 cup per day. But you may want to watch for signs of soft poo and if that happens then cut back a bit on the veggies. |
