Where else to get bluegrass hay?

Would anyone know of an alternative place/online site to get some good and reasonably-priced bluegrass hay shipped out?

The piggies are running low on hay, KM is out of bluegrass for the time and my husband has allergies to timothy.

Re: Where else to get bluegrass hay?

Bluegrass is also known as Orchard grass, and is available from Oxbow. This is another good hay supplier and they are selling at more and more petstores. Its the type of hay I buy when I run out of Kleenmama's Timothy.

Here's their website, but you might be able to find it at your local petstore. I'd call ahead to see if they had it.

Wait I just reread your post. KM is out of bluegrass! Oh No! Well at least I ordered my 25lbs of bluegrass when I did, even though it seemed like a ton at the time.

Are you sure she's out of bluegrass? It looks like she might just be out of the bluegrass/alfalfa mix.

Re: Where else to get bluegrass hay?

I don't know of any place online other than KM's to get bluegrass from. I searched for a long time one day and couldn't find any. Do you have a feed store that has bluegrass?
The only other option would be to buy Oxbow's orchard or brome hay, which are also alternitives to timothy hay.

Re: Where else to get bluegrass hay?

"The beautiful hay we carry called "bluegrass" is actually a hybrid seed my farmer has developed. It is an orchard/bluegrass seed. For those of you that are used to orchard grass, this will be similar except it has a beautiful blue/green color. After viewing more that 30 farms and countless hays, it just didn't do justice to call my hay "orchard", so I have chosen to call it "bluegrass". It is a wide bladed, leafy variety that is soft and pliable. Nutritionally, it is equivalent to orchard grass." From Kleenmama's Hayloft.

Kleenmama's Hayloft :: Hay

It's basically orchard grass and it's nutritionally equivalent to it.

Does not look like she runs out of bluegrass. I was able to add to cart (I didn't try checkout since I still have a lot of hay left).

Re: Where else to get bluegrass hay?

Thanks everyone I guess I mistook her notice, I figured if she didn't have bluegrass, she wouldn't have it in any sort of mix as well.

I'll put in my order for the bluegrass and get some Oxbow orchard from the store in the meanwhile.

All my piggies say Wheek Wheek Thank You!

Re: Where else to get bluegrass hay?

Ya, it says she's out of bluegrass/alfafa untill March 15th. Not too long a wait, but maybe you could just run to a pet store in the meantime to hold you over? Just a quick questions for anyone, when you order your hay from there, what is it shipped in? Was actually thinking of ordering some myself.

Hay is shipped in a plastic garbage bag that is placed in a cardboard box. Once your hay arrived, you can remove the plastic bag and put hay back in the cardboard box for storage.
