I am purchasing hay from kleenmama's hay loft, and I have not purchased from there before and it says they offer these different cuts. Apparently 3rd cut is the softest and greenest, but I was wondering if it rots faster? It seems that 2nd cut is the most common, but I'm not quite sure which would be best to order. |

Second or third are good choices. First cut is usually too stiff and stemmy, which could cause eye injuries. I don't think one is any more predisposed to rotting as long as you keep it well ventilated. I've used both cuts, but typically order second cut since it's more readily available. |

Yup, you should be fine with second or third, just keep them ventilated well. No airtight containers, and keep it in a cool, dry location. I've heard people suggest before to poke holes in the sides of the trash bags the hay comes in, to allow for some cross-ventilation. |

One cut won't rot any faster than another. Nothing to worry about there. 3rd cut is the best out of all of them. It's the softest. |
