Question Old hay?

A few months back I bought a bale of orchard grass for my two cavys. They really enjoy the larger amount I give them, so do I because it was so cheap. But my concern is is that it is losing it's color and is starting to dry out. I have so much hay left and I figure by the time I get half way done, it won't taste that great to them. How do you guys use up all of the hay? And when do you know that you should get new hay? I used to order from oxbow, so maybe I am just used to the best of the best.

Thanks,
Jenny
