Re: My piggy won't Drink!

Are you using a bottle type? Also, make sure there is no vitamin C drops in there. Try giving her some in a bowl and see if she drinks from it just to check it out and then maybe show her the bottle, put her mouth on it and dab water on her if you get what I mean, I hope this helps, maybe someone else has a better idea. Is she eating? If not maybe she is ill?

Re: My piggy won't Drink!

I have seen her drink out of the bottle once, but still it is not that much. I tried to give her a water bowl and she just sat in it. I am not puting Vitamin c in it so...

Re: My piggy won't Drink!

I think when you wet their veggies they do get water in their system, maybe she drinks more at night when you are not aware of it and maybe she just does not need as much water as you may think she needs. I would keep an eye on her and weigh her too each day.

Re: My piggy won't Drink!

Then she's probably getting what water she needs at this stage from the wet veggies. Just keep feeding the wet veggies and she will be ok.

The same as an adult, 1 cup per day.

I would not owrry too much. As long as wet veggies are given, I would not be to oconcerned. She may be still adjusting and i snervous, as you said you have had her for a few days?

Re: My piggy won't Drink!

I would be worried about her sitting in the water bowl you provided. This could cause a URI. But I also agree that she is probably getting what she needs from her veggies and as soon as she settles down, you will see her start using the bottle.

Re: My piggy won't Drink!

My pigs didn't drink water while I supplied wet grass as main diet. After I changed it to hay and pellets because the fresh grass is all dried up, they started to drink a lot.

I read that pigs in natural habitat seldom drink water as they get their water from food.
