Can I feed my GP bermuda grass/hay?

I have had two GPs for about a week. I have feed them several different brands of timothy hay and they have munched on it all. They seem to love it. However, I'm looking for something a little more cost effective. My husband found a local farmer who is selling bales of bermuda grass or hay (is there a difference?) for about $5. Is this an acceptable type of hay to feed my precious babies? I love them to death already and do want to give them the best.

Yes bermuda is a grass hay just like timothy hay. Any grass hay that your pigs enjoy eating is healthy and beneficial and should be the primary source of food for them. Bluegrass, orchard grass, bermuda, and timothy are all good types of hay. Some people also feed oat hay.

Alfalfa hay should also be fed liberally to young pigs up to 6-8 months of age. You can also get alfalfa-based pellets (most pellets are alfalfa-based, especially the cheaper brands) but my recommendation would be to give them timothy-based pellets so you never have to change the type as they get older.

Make sure to search "hay" and "pellet" then you will get so much information. I painfully found out that "pallet" doesn't give me satisfying results.

Yes. If it is a grass hay, it can be fed to any pig without any problems. Some pigs like other types more than others. I suggest Sweet Meadow Hay. I recently bought some for the first time. Coco did not eat alot of it at first but now he eats much much more of it!
