Gradual change?

I am switching my piggrer's pellet brand. Does the change need to be gradual?
Over the course of how long?
Could you providea chart or something of that nature as to what percentage should be fed?
i.e.~ Day 1- 90% old food / 10% new food
Something liek that would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Gradual change?

What brands are you changing from and to? Most pellets can be changed cold turkey. If you find your pig won't eat the new brand, then mix about 75% old, 25% new for one week, 50/50 for the second week and 25/75 the third week.

Re: Gradual change?

I am not exactly sure what brand I am chaging to, but I am going from Kaytee to more than likely Sweet Meadow. I have never used it, but I have heard pretty good things about it.
