| I have Spearmint now, and will soon have vetch, bermuda grass, wheat(cat)grass, and red or white(I don't remember what the bag says right now sorry) clover. How much of each of these should I feed daily, and how often do I feed each one? I know the clover is in moderation, but how many days a week and how much clover each time does moderation mean? Thanks! I just don't want to OD the girls here heehee! |

| Re: How often do I feed these forages I've acquired? Sorry, I missed this post when you posted it. You can feed bermuda and wheatgrass daily. The clover about twice per week (alternate colors) and you can give 2-3 stems of red clover per feeding and more of the white clover as red's high in either A or calcium (sorry, can't remember which one at the moment). Vetch you can give daily to every other day in small amounts. The one thing you don't want to do is overload. Start with small portions of things and increase slowly as not to cause stomach distress. So give a small handful of bermuda (is it fresh or hay?) and wheatgrass, a tiny amount of vetch and clover. As for the spearmint, use the guidelines for basil/dill on the nutrition charts. You can give a few leaves per feeding but start slow with it too if the pigs haven't had it before. |
