Fred has been with me for about 3 weeks now. He has been in his C&C cage for about 2 weeks. Before I got him, he had lived in a small petstore cage and only eaten pellets and water from a bowl. It took him until this week to warm up to eating romaine, carrots, ect. He's still mostly playing with his hay, but he pulls pieces from the rack all the time. 3 Days ago I added parsley, green peppers, and cilantro to the mix. The problem is that when he goes to sample the parsley or cilantro, it makes little rustling noises and he RUNS AWAY wheeking very loudly. He is fine until the parsley leaves (they are they curly crinkly edged kind) rustle! I've tried holding him and offering parsley but it produces the same result as soon as the parsley leaves move. The other greens make rustling noises...but I guess there's something about the parsley leaves?? I really don't know! ![]()

Re: Fred is afraid of his parsley!! LOL! That is too funny! You could maybe try to cut it up smaller so it is not as intimidating. LOL! Keep us updated! I would like to know who wins the piggie or the parsley!

Re: Fred is afraid of his parsley!! Poor Fred! When I feed Kyle parsley, I offer him the stem end first and he takes it out of my hand. He munches his way up the stem, and when the leaves come to his mouth, he tries to eat them all at once. Silly pig. Hope Fred figures it out soon!

Re: Fred is afraid of his parsley!! Well, we adopted the new friend on Saturday. Except for some initial fighting (a bath fixed that) they get along just fine. Fred does EVERYTHING CJ does. Except eat parsley. Now, CJ is convinced that there's something suspicous about the parsley because he eats it last and very slowly. He used to love it!! I'm going to try cutting it up or buying the flat leaved kind.

Re: Fred is afraid of his parsley!! I think Fred must have been the victim of a vicious parsley attack before I got him. There is no other explination for this rediculousness! Poor little Fred. I hope the flat parsley works because CJ really liked to eat parsley.
