Received my KM hay order !!

WOW !! This is the best stuff and my pigs are in love with it. I got 2.5 pounds of 3rd cut timothy, 2.5 pounds of 2nd cut timothy and 5 pounds of the blue grass. I just put a big handful of each in their cage and they are going crazy. I cant believe I waited so long to order from her. Its actually cheaper than the pet store stuff and the quality is noticeably better. I highly recommend it.

Re: Received my KM hay order !!

I always find it amusing when people get their first KM order and find out that everyone was telling the truth all along. It's especially nice that her products are such a great value! Linda is great to work with as well if you ever have any customer service issues.

Re: Received my KM hay order !!

I just got my second order from her last week. 3rd cut timothy. IT ROCKS!
I had to buy a bag of Kaytee from the petstore because I didn't pay attention to how much I had and I had run out. When I opened the new box of KM and looked at it compared to the Kaytee I had dumped into the old KM box.... I tossed the Kaytee. There just is no comparison. AND to add insult I payed 8.99 plus tax for 3 pounds of crappy, stick-filled, JUNK! I bought 25 pounds of soft, green, yummy KM for about 33$ which included shipping! I calculated that out and it's 3$ a pound for the Kaytee vs about $1.33 a pound for the KM(including shipping)! I've tried Oxbow too bought directly off their website and I think KM is better than Oxbow as well. (Although Oxbow is definately better than Kaytee...)

Re: Received my KM hay order !!

How long did it take for you to receive your order? I placed my order on the 10th and I want to know if I should go pick up another bag of hay from the supply/feed store or if the shipping is usually quick.

We order 45-pounds of bluegrass (or 3rd cut timothy) every three months. It takes 10 days for delivery here to Ohio.

You should have received a Quantum View email to track the UPS shipping and approximate delivery date. Hope this helped.

Re: Received my KM hay order !!

I just checked their website and it says orders are running about a day longer than usual due to heavy snow slowing down all the shipments. Mine took about a week I think and we live in NC.

And yes, the 3rd cut stuff is incredible. Reminds me of Easter grass for the baskets - in fact, I imagine I will use it for my Easter baskets this year (Isn't that probably how the whole idea of Easter grass began?)!

Re: Received my KM hay order !!

WOOHOO!! Got another one hooked. I order 25lbs. at a time from KM's for my 2 boys, and each order lasts several months, and I go crazy with the hay, too. They have a 1x2 hay room filled with hay, and they lay in it while eating it, so a lot of it gets thrown away from them peeing on it. But it really doesn't cost much, and 25lbs. goes a looong way. So worth it to see them so happy. I like to order 1/2 3rd cut timothy, and 1/2 bluegrass. They are nuts for both. I can't believe I ever used to feed them that Kaytee junk. Anyway, congrats! No doubt they're going crazy for KM's... they always do.

Newbie here!

Hi! I love my piggies. I have two and for about 9 months I had them in a larger rabbit hutch. My boyfriend and I recently made them a 2x3 CC cage with a second story and it's so awesome.

About the hay... I have been looking around online for different options and, I have to say that shipping on many of the hays just feels very cost prohibitive. I feel bad that people are feeding their piggies such great things and the KayTee brand is no good but... my piggies seem to love it and for now it's what I can afford.

Are there any other online sources that you know of that the shipping doesn't meet or exceed the price of the hay?

Thanks!

Re: Received my KM hay order !!

Kleenmama's hay is the freshest and best and if you do the math with shipping it is actually cheaper per pound than the store bought brand. It only seems to be more because you are buying a larger amount of it at a time. Your piggies will love it and they will eat more of it, so waste will be less.

Re: Received my KM hay order !!

Yes, this is very true. I made my first KM purchase about 2 months ago and at the time was hesitant to order it with shipping costs, but even WITH shipping, it's about 3 times less to buy KM versus Kaytee or Oxbow (from my local feed store). It is definitely worth it and your guinea pigs will love you for it!
