Talking A little treat

Pet store treats are usually chock 'o' block with rubbish but i find these nifty treats are healthy and the pigs adore them!

Re: A little treat

It would really help if you would tell us what these treats are and what they have in them. They may not be as healthy as you think.

Re: A little treat

I posted a link! Where did it go ! Well i'll try again with the info! There are three flavours of burgess treats.
Mint – good for digestion
Nettle – a good source of nutrition
Dandelion – aids urinary tract health
They are basically crispy tubes filled with either of the above and very soft hay. I would not reccomend them for everyday use but once a month or two they seem perfectly fine. Protein24%Fibre18%Ash12%Dandelion/Mint or Nettle5%
These treats are quite low in some things and as i said above NOT for everyday feeding.

Re: A little treat

What are the tubes made up of?

Anything processed is generally not good, products with seed, dairy, meat and additives should be avoided.

A piece of fruit, or some extra veggies are much better for them, as boring as it may sound.

Re: A little treat

Here is the link to the product I think the poster is mentioning. It says it is held together by edible vegetable fibres.

Pet-Supermarket

I'd be interested in what is said, because although my piggie won't eat these, my bunnies love them.

Re: A little treat

There have been a few members feed these to their pigs with no ill effects. They could be used as a very occasional treat.
