organic banana chips? Would organic banana chips be safe for the pigs? Nothing added to them including preservatives, just dried banana chips.

Re: organic banana chips? Banana isn't a good fruit to feed because it can and has caused bloat in pigs. Bloat is a very serious condition that often requires an emergency vet visit. Dried fruits have more concentrated sugar levels so it's best to keep them out of the pigs diet and feed fresh. There are a couple dried fruits that you can give once in a great while and that is raisins (1-2 per pig about once or twice a month) and dried figs are pretty low in sugars (they contain half the sugars that fresh ones do). But I can't say if pigs like dried figs as I've never tried them.

Re: organic banana chips? Thanks for the info! I didn't realize bananas were a bad choice and we always have them on hand so I'm glad I brought it up. I did try to feed a piece of fresh banana once but it went untouched so I didn't bother with it again.
