We feed my pig a baby carrot every morning, and a salad every night + hay and pellets all day.

IS this ok?

Feed a cup of veggies per day (half in the morning and half at night is best) with unlimited hay at all times. You should be giving only 1/8 to 1/4 cup of the pellets per day.

How old is your pig? How many pellets and what is the pellet brand you are feeding? What exactly is in the salad you are feeding?

How many pigs do you have though? I am pretty sure that figure is PER pig. And also, base veggies like lettuce and whatnot, I dont think they can have too much of unless they arent getting any exersize. I am sure that someone more knowledgeable, like Ly, will be able to confirm or deny this.

I do the same, I might be able to save some money if I feed less..holy! Mine are eating enough for 4 -6 pigs LOL

The minimum is one cup per pig per day. You can feed more.

So, 2-3 cups daily PER piggy is OK?

Ha if its too much like mentioned I could save loads of money could save around 3 lettuces a week

ha ha my pigs are eating about 21 cups of veg a week holy moly and for the three of them it would be like 63 cups of veg a week for the three of them! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh we are definatly cavy slaves! that more salads/veg then I would eat in a week!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

My pigs are eating more than 1 cup a day each too! It's mostly the lettuce that they get more than enough of.

yeh, mine have like 2 cups of lettuce a day and the cup is filled with tomatoes, carrot etc etc

My pigs eat about 2+ cups of veg and fruit a day plus lettuce leaves. Thats for two pigs. I read somewhere that my pigs only need 1 carrot every other day. Is that 1 baby carrot , 1 med. carrot or 1 large carrot? Carrots are one thing that my pigs really love. That and orange.

The rule of thumb with carrots is 1 baby carrot per pig once a day. So if you have 2 guinea pigs, 2 baby carrots once a day is fine.

I feed one baby carrot, w/ a vitamin c tablet wedged in during the morning. Lettuce at night. Hay all day, and because the pellet bowl so deep I just keep pellets available all day too.
