Proper Diet.

I know this was probably posted several times, by other members, but im curious as to what the daily diet for a Cavy should be. I do have hay, and fresh vegtables ( carrots, lettace, etc. ) but I also bought pellets. Im not sure if this is good or not. What would everyone suggest? I want to feed the best possible diet I can to my Cavy. Thanks everyone.

Re: Proper Diet.

It depends on your pig's age.

What kind of pellets and hay are you feeding?

Carrots are more of a treat. Your pig should have more leafy greens.

Re: Proper Diet.

Thank you! I got Timothy Hay, and Kaytee Pellets. I have rats and I HATE Kaytee diet for them, so I wasnt sure about this. What would you suggest. And thanks for letting me know about the carrots! Is Green Leaf lettace good? Should they have hay avaliable at all times? Thanks!

Re: Proper Diet.

For diet info see http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...arts-info.html and www.guinealynx.info/diet.

As far as pellets, Kaytee isn't that good of a brand. The best brands are Oxbow Oxbow Pet Products | Welcome and Kleenmama's Kleenmama's Hayloft :: Home.

You should have grass hay available 24/7 and green leaf is ok to feed.
