| I have been looking around for hay to buy locally as we are short on money this summer and may have found some. THey have a website Hay Prices I want to buy the orchard grass with red clover. Is that okay to feed unlimited to my piggies?? |

| Re: May have found hay locally! That site won't load for me. Clover is not a grass hay but a legume like alfalfa. You cannot feed too much of it since it is too high in calcium and other nutrients. It can lead to bladderstones and imbalances in the diet. Also clover has alot more sugar than alfalfa to the point that my diabetic horse can't eat any of it. He has come close to death a few times just from getting into a patch of clover. I'd actually rank it up there with some fruits for sugar content. I would be very wary of feeding a hay containing clover daily in controlled amounts and would never feed it in unlimited amounts. It would probably make a fine treat a few times a week as supplement to better grass hay. |

| Re: May have found hay locally! Does this place carry just plain orchard grass? If so then you could get that and feed it to your pigs on a daily basis. The link won't work for me either. |
