Km is having their Bluegrass on sale until the 17th of June. I put my order in for 35lbs and I also bought a 10lb. bage of Timothy pellets. If my girls like it, I will buy more. Kleenmama's Hayloft :: Home Dawn Last edited by Ly&Pigs : 06-15-07 at 01:09 pm. Reason: adding KM's website address

Re: Bluegrass Sale I'm really new to this whole ordering online thing, I need to know how much bluegrass to order for 3 guinea pigs to last until the next cut? I don't mind switching back and forth between bluegrass and timothy but after reading through the website it looks as if I'd like to wait for the 3rd cut of timothy hay. And I didn't see anything about the different cuts of bluegrass? Could someone help me out a bit here? I'm really lost! Linds

Re: Bluegrass Sale Catz, I would order around 25 to 35 lbs. 3rd cut should happen by early fall. Hay stored properly can last several months- up to 1 year. I don't believe KM can ship to Europe. You might want to contact her and see.

Re: Bluegrass Sale She can only ship hay to the United States. Pellets can be shipped to the US and Canada. Sorry Fay. I have a new box of bluegrass and need to decide if I want to try and store 2 boxes since it is on sale now.

| Re: Bluegrass Sale Quote:
Also I'm not sure how I should store it. I saw a pic that someone keeps their hay in a big plastic bag by the cage and stores the rest in a plastic bin? What would be the best way to store it anyone? Thanks, Linds |

Re: Bluegrass Sale There is a shipping calculator on the site that you can use to help figure out what shipping costs will be. Another way is to put an order in your basket and go through to the point where it adds shipping on but don't complete the order. Kleenmama's Hayloft :: Costs & Shipping Chart

Re: Bluegrass Sale I got my order of bluegrass and pellets from KM and my girls do not like the pellets, not even Miss Piggy and she eats everything. I'm hoping that over time they wil decide to like and eat it. I am going to continue to mix the KM pellets with the Oxbow pellets and hope they will eat it eventually.

Re: Bluegrass Sale Don't worry Piggers, my pigs didn't care for the KM pellets either :-/ They went completely off pellets when I replaced the junk pellets with KM's. Linds I have been buying a 45 lb box that myself and my sister split between the two of us. I get 2/3 of it for my 6 pigs, and she gets 1/3 of it for her 4 pigs (two of hers are just babies). It runs us about 50.00 a box, but that is having it shipped from WA to MS. I bought a box a month ago and I am still only half way through my share of it, so it should last me another 3-4 weeks before I have to order again....she is nowhere near half way through her portion yet. My sister put hers into two large garbage bags, stabbed holes in the bags for circulation, and keeps it in her dry/dark storage shed. I dumped my portion out into the box it came in, stabbed holes in the box, and I store it in my pig room next to the cages.

Re: Bluegrass Sale Some of my piggies are now eating it but not very much. Some of my piggies don't even eat pellets at all. I was thinking about taking them off of pellets all together. They are eating enough hay and veggies that I don't think they really need the pellets. I'm not sure if I should take them off the pellets though.

Re: Bluegrass Sale I took mine completely off the pellets for a while, because I was totally put out with wasting the expensive things. It cost me a small fortune to provide 6 pigs with double if not triple the amount of fresh veggies and still offer a good variety though. When they go off pellets you have to offer more veggies, and be very careful about providing even more vit c rich things to make up the difference. Mine did fine without the pellets, but it was a hassle for me I admit. I have them back on pellets now, but I do notice that once I put a bowl of them in their cage they will devour that bowl and then they are uninterested in them for a few days. It is like they get burned out on them? What I have resorted to, is putting about a half a cup of pellets in their bowl every other day and that seems to be working better for us.

Re: Bluegrass Sale That's a good idea, maybe I will start feeding pellets every other day. I will monitor their weight and see how they do with that.
