Feeding fruit

I have a question about my piggies' fruit intake. I feed almost exclusively veggies, with the regulars being red or green leaf lettuce, carrots, cherry tomatoes, green pepper, parsely, cilantro, romaine lettuce, leafy parts of celery, and other veggies from the nutrition charts they get less often, mostly because a lot aren't available to me close to where I live.

Do I need to give them a certain amount of fruit? Right now on average I would say they get a small piece of apple 1-2 times per week, and a strawberry each about once a week. Is this ok, or should they be having more fruits?

Thank you!!

Re: Feeding fruit

I think you should see fruit mostly as a treat because they are often high in sugar. You can however feed strawberries and raspberries daily if you wish to give them more fruit (Although they should be just fine with vegetables).

It's a good treat if your pigs love it, mine personally sniff them and start wheeking again hehe (Spoiled pigs).
