silly piggies and their pellets

This is just an amusing story I thought I'd share. My piggies had been used to eating Oxbow's timothy pellets. Just shaking the bowl was enough to get them wheeking. Well, maybe a few months ago I decided to try KM's timothy pellets. We switched over, but they haven't been digging in to these like they did before, so I thought I'd get the Oxbow ones again and do the switch back. They were delivered yesterday and I opened them last night. I had already fed the guys, but I walked out into the living room with the new bag of Oxbow pellets, just so I could add a little bit to their bowl of the KM ones. All three boys stood up on their hind legs and started wheeking like nuts, just from smelling the bay. They actually dropped veggies to run over and snarf them out of the bowl. I laughed so hard at them. They are the silliest creatures!

By the way, the piggies go just as nuts over KM's bluegrass. They are now used to the morning routine of getting new hay when I first get up (they don't get real breakfast till I'm a bit more awake). If they hear me in the kitchen and I don't bring hay, they let me know that they know I'm out there!

These little guys are an important part of my life, and I just wanted to share one of their funny stories. I mostly just "lurk" on this forum, but I really enjoy reading other people's happy pig moments. I hope that others feel the same.

We often refer to KM's bluegrass/blue orchard grass as piggy crack for the very reasons you mentioned.

My girls go nuts over the bluegrass like cats to catnip. When I fill the racks they come running to the loft just to head dive into the stuff. They will roll and bury themselves in it. I think my piggies are drug addicts

Re: silly piggies and their pellets

My 2 boys, won't barely let me get out of the shower in the morning before they start in looking for food. I get around the hallway corner, and they are standing on their hind legs already at the side of the cage begging for me. The first thing they get in the morning is a small carrot. They are so funny. This morning I caught them playing tug a war with a carrot. Snowy didn't like his, so he thought he's steal Bud's.

Someone from work gave me a big bag of pellets because their piggy died, so I'm in the process of switching them over now. Snowy dumped the dish over to find more of the old pellets.

What spoiled, silly piggies!

Re: silly piggies and their pellets

Do you have the blue grass shipped? If so, how much is the charge for the amount ordered?

Re: silly piggies and their pellets

I get it shipped from KM and cost almost 17$ just for the hay.
