While at the store I saw a display of yellow tomates and bought one. Does anybody know if it would be good to feed to my piggies? I'm gonna see if I can find some info on them but thought I would ask first. Dawn

Re: Yellow Tomatoes Basically it's just a tomato. The acidity levels are generally lower in yellow tomatoes, but levels of nutrients always depend on how they are grown, how they are ripened. Sunshine, watering, fertilizer apllication will all affect the sugar levels, the acidity, the vitamin levels.

Re: Yellow Tomatoes Thanks JW. I did some searching and yes, the nutrient content is about the same as red tomatoes. My girls seemed to really enjoy the yellow tomatoes, they couldn't get enough. I guess that means I will be buying yellow tomatoes more often. My shopping list for the piggies just keep getting longer and longer.

Re: Yellow Tomatoes Has anyone ever fed green tomatoes to their piggies? My neighbor is growing tomatoes and was thinking about picking some while still green. I am assuming that the green ones are safe to feed right? Dawn

Re: Yellow Tomatoes Green tomatoes are incredibly acidic. I would wait until until the tomatoes ripen before feeding them to your pigs.

Re: Yellow Tomatoes Thanks PM, I won't even bother with the green ones, I'll just stick to the yellow and red tomatoes.
