Apples

I sliced up some apples and put 2 small slices in the cage, and one of my piggies ran away from it and the other one ate them both! It seems as if he runs away from fruits alot. He won't eat apples, oranges...he eats carrots, but i don't have any!
How can I get him to eat?

Re: Apples

Some pigs take a while to get used to certain foods and some will dig in immediately. Keep offering them the fruits (in the amount recommended) and your other pig may get used to it. Do remember that all pigs have a different taste so while apple may be a favorite of some pigs, other pigs may prefer something else.

Re: Apples

Are apples, oranges, and carrots all you are feeding in regards to fruits/veggies?
Some piggies take time to warm up to fresh foods....they are new to them so they are unsure. It takes time and patience.
That being said, try focusing more on "greens". Leaf and romaine lettuces, cilantro, fresh grass clippings from your yard. Then work your way up to more variety with things like bell peppers, carrots, and occasional fruit.
