Question Any Ideas?

Ok ...I want to offer my piggies a variety of healthy vegetables but so far I am not having ANY luck with either zuchinni or bell peppers and these two veggies are listed as something they should have on a regular basis. They love romaine and cilantro and the one carrot a day but I really think their diet should expand beyond this...any suggestions for picky piggies?

Keep trying. Put some of each in cage and leave overnight. You may have to do this daily for a couple weeks. A strip of pepper each and a slice of zucchini each is all you need to put in until they start eating it.

If you haven't seen the nutrition charts at the top of this forum, I suggest you look them over. Also see Guinea Lynx :: Diet.

Re: Any Ideas?

Here is an idea that worked for me. My one piggy wouldn't eat zuccini but loves cucumbers. I took a couple of slices of cucumber and rubbed them on the zuccini slices. The zuccini now smells like cucumber and the piggy didn't realize it was zuccini. After a couple of days of doing this my piggy now loves zuccini.

Re: Any Ideas?

I have also found that grating or using the potato peeler to get the veg into strips helps the fussy piggies too. Mine never used to be too keen on the carrots when I left them in chunks, but when I did them with a peeler, they loved them.
