good meal plan?

Hey, I made up my meal plan/menu for my piggy. Is it okay? Should I change anything?

Monday:
lettuce
baby carrot
green pepper
parsley
apple w/skin

Tuesday:
lettuce
baby carrot
yellow pepper
dill
broccoli
pear

Wednesday:
lettuce
baby carrot
red pepper
parsley
broccoli
plum

Thursday:
lettuce
baby carrot
green pepper
parsley
cucumber
apple w/skin

Friday:
lettuce
baby carrot
yellow pepper
dill
cucumber
pear

Saturday:
lettuce
baby carrot
red pepper
parsley
broccoli
plum

Sunday:
lettuce
baby carrot
green pepper
dill
broccoli
apple

I get this bagged lettuce from wegmans that has endive, cilantro, red leaf, green leaf and the occasional spinach which is 100% natural and has no preservatives. I was it off really good and Dixie loves it.

Re: good meal plan?

Fruits should be limited to 1-2x a week. Fruit has a high sugar content.

Re: good meal plan?

You might want to cut back on the Broccoli also, it can cause gas. Feed 1-2x per week.

Re: good meal plan?

I don't know if you have seen this list but it is very useful. It will give you the information you need for properly feeding your piggies. Try adding different veggies to your menu like squash/zuccini, asparagus, turnips, celery, etc. Don't be afraid to try something new....your piggies may thank you for it

I have one pig, female, and 5 1/2 months old. I am in search mode for a companion for her.

Re: good meal plan?

The reason I ask is because you are feeding parsley several times per week. When she turns 6 months old either cut back on the parsley to twice per week or even better, switch the parsley out for cilantro. Cilantro is low in calcium and can be fed daily.

Some other things to throw in the mix a couple times per week would be cherry/grape tomatoes (1-2) or the equivalent of in regular or roma tomatoes and green beans (1-2). You can buy loose green beans at most grocers/markets this time of year and that means you can just buy 1/2 a dozen if you need to.
